iamamiwhoami

Came across some of the “iamamiwhoami” vids at the end of last year and meant to follow up but have been too busy. The names of the vids look like coordinates and sure enough the folks at unfiction are on the case.

The marriage of ARGs and music is such a natural fit. NiN did an effective take on it with Year Zero a few years back. In fact many have thought these viral vids are the work of NiN and earlier tonight Trent Reznor tweeted

Bioshock 2 trailer

Very much looking forward to the release of Bioshock 2 which comes out this week. I’d love to get my hands on the game bible that I’ve heard rumors about – Bioshock is a rich game world while at the same time haunting, beautiful and bizzare.

Gaming via the cloud

More and more things are moving to the cloud. The hype around OnLive and their solution for “Cloud Gaming” reached a fever pitch in early 2009. By years end they had a beta running. The following is a demo by CEO Steve Perlman to students at Columbia. As more things move to the “cloud” it offers interesting opportunities for new forms of social interaction. The following vid is cued to the demo section. But there is interesting info throughout the vid and Perlman gives a nice overview of the platform and biz model.

MOBILE APP: Waze

Robert Scoble spends some time with the WAZE team. The following video is an overview of a crowdsourced traffic mapping / info app for mobile devices that uses drivers to report on various driving conditions. One aspect that caught my attention was the simple feature that turns your car into packman. Nothing like an old school game of GPS packman.

PSP Porn

earlier news of Hollywood movies on your PSP, comes the inevitable porn releases [NWS].

Adult movies in the PSP-friendly Universal Media Disc format will be released in Japan this summer. Two publishers will offer a total of eight movies specifically for the PSP. Adult-content publisher Glay'z will release five titles starting on July 8, while fellow publisher H.M.P. will release three additional titles on July 16. The movies will be priced between 1,995 yen ($18) and 3,990 yen ($37).

While software releases for the PSP are subject to approval from Sony Computer Entertainment, the Sony gaming division does not hold sway over movies released for the device.

"Unlike games, we believe that UMD movies are an all-purpose media, like DVD movies. We do not control their content in the way that we do with games," commented an SCE representative in a previous interview with Impress PC Watch. "We are not in a position to know what kinds of UMD videos get released."
